
About the Festival
The Gainesville Jewish Film Festival is an annual event organized by the Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies with generous support from our sponsors.
Most screenings take place at the Hippodrome State Theater, with one screening Oak Hammock, and one on UF Campus (locations will be noted next to films). All events are free and open to the public, though we do request RSVPs for security purposes.

April 6-18, 2026
There will be no screenings on April 7-8 due to Passover observance. The screening on April 9 will be after sunset.

April 6-18, 2025
All films are in person. There are no screenings scheduled for April 7-8 in observance of Passover.
The majority of the films will be screened at the Hippodrome State Theater
Two films will be screened on the University of Florida campus. One film will be screened at Oak Hammock.
All films are free to attend. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yes, security will be provided by the Gainesville Police Department.
The Hippodrome Theater has a ramp along the right side of the building leading to the entrance. We can remove seats for those using wheelchairs and have front row reserved seating available for others with mobility aids.
Oak Hammock is accessible, with ramps and elevators.
The Shorstein Center has a ramp around the side of the building and an elevator. While we currently don’t have automatic doors, if you require assistance entering the building please email agoldstein2@ufl.edu in advance and we will arrange for o ur team to meet you at the entrance.
Films will have subtitles in English.
