James Loeffler

Dr. James Loeffler is the Felix Posen Professor of Jewish History at Johns Hopkins University, and Kogod Senior Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. He is a frequent contributor to The Atlantic magazine and author of the forthcoming book, Exceptional Hatred: Antisemitism and the Battle over Free Speech in Modern America.

Richard Breitman

Dr. Richard Breitman is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at American University. His many books include The Berlin Mission: The American Who Resisted Nazi Germany from Within; FDR and the Jews, coauthored with Allan J. Lichtman; Official Secrets: What the Nazis Planned, What the British and Americans Knew; and The Architect of Genocide: Himmler and the Final Solution.

Joshua Leifer

Joshua Leifer is a journalist and historian. A columnist for Haaretz, his essays and reporting have also appeared in The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, and The Guardian. His first book, Tablets Shattered: The End of an American Jewish Century and the Future of Jewish Life (2024), won a National Jewish Book Award. He is currently a doctoral candidate in history at Yale University, where his research sits at the nexus of modern intellectual history, modern Jewish politics, U.S. foreign policy, and Holocaust memory. His dissertation project examines the politics of antisemitism and the crisis of the liberal order.
