The Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies mourns the passing of Gary Gerson, a devoted supporter of Jewish studies at the University of Florida since 1975. His generosity and dedication have left a lasting mark on our programs, research, and teaching.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1954 and his MBA in 1955 from UF. He served as principal and senior partner at the accounting firm Gerson, Preston, Robinson & Co., and was a longtime resident of Miami Beach. He is survived by his wife, Niety Gerson.
Throughout his life, Gary was deeply committed to Jewish education and culture, always with a focus on nurturing the next generation. His passion for learning, generosity, and vision strengthened our community and enriched countless students, scholars, and programs over decades.
We honor his memory and the enduring impact of his support.
May his memory be a blessing.
